Chiropractic
Chiropractic is a philosophy, science and art which concerns itself
with the relationship between structure (the SPINE) and function
(the NERVOUS SYSTEM), and how that relationship may affect the
restoration and preservation of HEALTH.

Chiropractic acknowledges the body's natural ability to control and heal
itself. Chiropractic does not treat or cure diseases. Chiropractic corrects
the cause of dis-ease (disharmony) by removing nerve interference, which
inhibits the body's ability to adapt to its surroundings. Once the body is free
of nerve interference, it can function at its full potential.

Chiropractic is based on the scientific fact that the Nervous System controls
and coordinates the function of every cell, tissue, organ and system of your
body. The central nervous system consists of the brain and spinal cord.
The brain is protected by the skull. The spinal cord and the 31 pair of
nerves that emit from it are housed, supported and protected by the more
vulnerable SPINE. The SPINE consists of 24 movable bones
(VERTEBRAE). When the VERTEBRAE misalign, pressure is put on the
nervous system, which disrupts the function of cells, tissues and organs
under control of the nerves. The misaligned bone putting pressure on the
nerve component is called a VERTEBRAL SUBLUXATION.

Chiropractors are trained to use skills and knowledge to locate areas where
spinal nerve interference exists and adjust the subluxated vertebrae
allowing the bone to take its normal position. This takes pressure off the
nerves and allows the body to FUNCTION and HEAL OPTIMALLY and to
RESTORE and MAINTAIN HEALTH.

Most people believe health is an absence of symptoms. We want you to

Health is having all the systems of the body working in harmony,
maintaining a balance in your body and being able to function in and adapt
to your environment. Your body has innate or inborn ability to maintain
balance. We want to limit the physical and mental stresses placed on the
body by our busy lifestyles so that the body has an easier time maintaining
that balance.

Pain, Healthy or Not?
Pain is often a sign your body is healthy and protecting you. When you slip
and sprain your ankle, you feel pain. That is healthy. The body feels pain
in order to let your mind know there is an injury and you should rest it so
that you do not cause further harm.

Fever Healthy or Not?
Fever is the body's defense against foreign invaders. Your body
temperature raises to fight the bad bacteria and expel them from the body.
A fever is a sign that your body is functioning as it should to protect you.

We often think of our body as being sick when we have a fever. Now we
can see that is not always the case. The body is just doing what it can to
protect us by causing a rise in temperature. It is expressing itself and
fighting foreign invaders.

The body is complex and with all of our education we will never understand
its intricacies. Every process happens for a reason and we too often
interfere with our natural processes. We want to adjust your thinking about
